Mountain Bliss Memories: Little Moments That Make An Impression

Some moments in nature stay with you long after the trail dust settles. And this time, smelly, salty, and overheated best described me when I encountered this picturesque view bathed in honeyed sunbeams. Traversing the ridgeline on one of New Hampshire’s stunning treks in the White Mountains, we were well into a multi‑day, summer family backpacking trip.

The journey had been both exhausting and life‑giving — the kind of tired that feels deeply fulfilling because you’re doing something you love.

Step by step along the smooth, solid rock of the trail, I felt as though I had wandered into an evergreen wonderland. Verdant pine needles, supple in the rich New England summer, gently brushed my arms and backpack as I passed.

The high‑noon sun dappled the alpine sprigs in a golden glow, while the nearby hills and distant peaks faded in and out of a delicious blueberry haze.

If it hadn’t been for our homeward‑bound plans, I might have slipped into a ridgeline reverie on that summit path and never returned.

As we spread out along the trail, I paused to soak up the sun and the view — too good not to.

Although this particular photo captured just a few steps out of the thousands it took to reach these heights, the beauty and bliss of that exact moment struck me to my core, and I knew it would never leave me.

So when I broke out my oil paints for a Bob Ross‑inspired landscape scene, this summit trail was the immediate choice.

Now one of my most beloved oil landscapes, Mountain Bliss is truly a joyful dose of natural beauty, ripe for any nature lover.

I’m so thrilled to offer giclée prints of this exquisite scene and hope you savor the brushstrokes as much as I do every day. You can explore the print in my shop and see the details up close right here: Mountain Bliss Fine Art Print. It’s available in multiple sizes and ready to add a little wilderness wonder to your space.
