Adventurine… surely, you meant aventurine, right? The green quartz stone symbolizing prosperity and confidence? Well yes… and no.
Aventurine (did you miss the omission of the d? It’s hard to notice sometimes!) is a beautiful and common type of stone quartz that comes in a variety of colors but is usually green. This beautiful stone can be found in high-energy locations across the world, nestled in places like India, the Amazon, Russia, Brazil and Chile.

There are so many unique and meaningful origins anchored in this word, that of course, I have altered again. More on this in a moment. Aventurine comes from the Italian word Aventura meaning ‘chance.’ The meanings run as deep as the stunning veins of gold found running through the green luminescence.

Aventurine is also one of the Heart Chakra stones, emitting prosperity, possibility and personal power to the welder. I know, I know - if you’re new to Eastern and Indian perspectives on energy, psychology, and the unification of mind, body and spirit - this piece gives a comprehensive overview to deepen your understanding. But stay with me - I’m getting somewhere.
Tiny Rituals created a wonderful, in-depth overview of Aventurine in which much of my inspiration for this explanation comes. A direct excerpt from their piece highlights some of the power and beauty of this stone related to the heart:
“...its always ready to rouse those feelings of far-flung love and fantasy but in a way that feels strong and healthy, ever ready to raise you up. It’s a comforter, a harmonizer… Whether you need a little flush of added wealth, an extra abundance of love and friendship, or just a bit more growth, Aventurine wants one thing – for you to succeed in all your amazing endeavours, no matter how big or small they may be.”
Whether you put any importance into the imbued qualities of aventurine, one thing is certain: it is a symbolic inspiration that may or may not encourage you on your journey of life.
So, what better symbolizes the next chapter in my continued artreprenuer journey than a stone encouraging and reminding me that I can succeed in all my endeavors? As the onlooker in Meg Ryan’s infamous coffee shop scene exclaims “I’ll have what she’s having!” So I jive with a little bit of aventurine possibilities in my life, my art and my business.
Okay, okay, so let’s get to the addition of the ‘d.’ And frankly, the logo design here. Why is there no green aventurine? Did I forget the beautiful stone I’ve partially named my business after? Did I miss the connective opportunity to design with the hexagonal shape of Aventurine, visible only at a molecular level? You’ll see, nope and no.
A core vision for my business is the fusion of art, adventure and nature and the inevitable effects all three can imprint on our journeys at the right time and the right place. Hence, the addition of the d, to form the core word “adventure” in the very essence of my business.

For me and my work, Adventurine Art Studio is a facilitator - a vehicle:

Bringing inspiration, joy, new adventure - as much for you in enjoying as for me in creating.

To put the next hammer swing on the nail in the long-dying coffin of “the starving artist" mentality.

To fuel my goals of running my art venture, traveling the world with it and both delighting in and preserving nature along the way.
And so, Adventurine was born! Art, adventure and nature - oh my!
What do you think about the depth a name can bring? Is there a name or word you love with depth of meaning?
Do you have a totem, anchor, trinket or other item that symbolizes something important to you?
